SUGARCULT


This US punk pop band was formed in 1998 in Santa Barbara, California, USA, by college friends Tim Pagnotta (guitar/vocals), Airin Older (bass/vocals) and Ben Davis (drums/vocals). Adding guitarist Marko 72 (ex-<PERF MuzeArtistID="82696">Ataris</PERF>) to the line-up, Sugarcult soon built up a cult following on the west coast, combining well-crafted pop melodies with healthy helpings of rock 'n' roll attitude and energy. To complement their live work the band recorded several lo-fi albums which they sold at their shows alongside homemade T-shirts. A recording contract with Ultimatum Records ensued, and the quartet entered the studio with producer Matt Wallace. Their mainstream debut,
